Katalyst receives various types of information including name, email address, birthdate, postal address, phone numbers, billing information, survey responses, demographics, dining preferences, reservation details, favourite restaurants, passwords, and contact information provided by users or obtained through third parties.

Registration information

When signing up for Katalyst, users must provide name, email address, and gender. Registration may also be available through third-party services such as Facebook.

Payment card information

For certain services such as restaurant reservations, payments, and gift card purchases, users may be required to provide credit or debit card account information.

Additional information you may choose to share

Information posted on third-party sites or social networks like Facebook may be shared with Katalyst, including profile information, friends list, and shared actions. Name, profile pictures, cover photos, gender, networks, username, and User ID may be treated as public information.

Other information and data we receive about you

Data is received from devices used to access Katalyst, including IP address, mobile device ID, internet service information, location data, browser type, and visited pages. GPS or location information may be provided to identify nearby establishments. Cookies and similar technologies collect data including visit dates, URLs, technical information, and Facebook User IDs when applicable.

User surveys may be conducted to gather identity information, viewing habits, and content relevance feedback.

Public information

Public information such as USPS-provided addresses and check-in locations may be collected with user approval.

Information is used in connection with services and features provided through the Sites. Uses include:

• Making and changing restaurant reservations
• Offering products and services including bill payment options
• Responding to inquiries and providing customer service
• Improving Site quality and personalising user experience
• Understanding preferences and enhancing service customisation
• Making restaurant recommendations

By using our Sites, you are giving us permission to use the information that we receive about you in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Information is not shared with others unless permission is granted, notice is provided, or information is anonymised.

Data is retained as long as necessary to provide products and services, typically until account deletion subject to specific retention practices.

Katalyst will not sell, share, license, or lease information to third parties without consent, except as noted in this policy.

Information shared with restaurants

Reservation information is provided to restaurants selected by users. Mobile phone numbers may be used by restaurants to send text messages about reservations. Some restaurants require credit or debit card information to secure reservations. Additional information about dining preferences, prior purchases, and history may be shared. User comments and special preferences are passed to restaurants but identity information is not provided with comments.

Information shared with other vendors

When purchasing gift cards or merchandise through the Sites, applicable vendors are notified with purchase-related information including name, email, gift card amount, and purchased products or services.

Sharing of payment card information

Submitting credit or debit card information constitutes consent to share information with restaurants, third-party payment processors, and service providers. Card information excluding CVV is provided to payment processors and restaurants for reservation securing. For restaurant payments, third parties may store card information for future use. For gift card purchases, payment information is shared with third-party processors who may retain card data except CVV, which must be re-entered for each order.

Other parties with whom we may share your information

Content and information including feedback, cookies, log files, device identifiers, location data, and usage data may be shared with affiliates for analytics and service improvement purposes. Information may be shared with service providers helping provide services under confidentiality terms. Information may be anonymised and combined with others’ information before sharing with third parties.

Parties with whom you may choose to share your information

Voluntarily shared information becomes available to the public as controlled by privacy settings. No information is made public unless users choose to share it. Information shared publicly may be re-shared by others. Sites may allow connecting and sharing actions, comments, and content with friends or the public. Removed posted information may remain in cached and archived pages or copies retained by other users.

What happens in the event of a change of control of Katalyst

If Katalyst is sold or assets transferred to another organisation, collected information including names, email addresses, user information, and other data may be among transferred items. Recipients remain subject to this Privacy Policy as amended.

Responding to legal requests and preventing harm

Information may be accessed, preserved, and shared in response to legal requests if required by law. Information may be accessed to detect, prevent, and address fraud and illegal activity; protect users and others; and prevent death or harm. Contact information may be disclosed responding to rights owner inquiries about copyright or proprietary rights infringement. Information may be retained for extended periods when subject to legal requests, governmental investigations, or investigations of policy violations.

Reasonable precautions consistent with standard industry practice are used to protect customer information. However, no data transmissions over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

Katalyst does not store your credit or debit card account information, and we do not have direct control over or responsibility for your credit or debit card account information.

Third-party agreements require security and confidentiality but cannot guarantee secure transmissions or prevent unauthorised access. We assume no liability or responsibility for disclosure of your information due to errors in transmission, unauthorised third-party access, or other causes beyond our control.

Users should not share usernames, passwords, or security information with others. Instructions using user credentials are considered authorised.

Users may update accounts by logging in and changing profile settings. Email communications may be unsubscribed through provided unsubscribe links. Service-related communications including account verification, purchase confirmations, and security notices cannot be opted out of.

Katalyst does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 or allow such persons to register. Services and content are not directed at children under 13. Upon learning of collected personal information from children under 13, it will be deleted promptly. Concerns about child information should be reported to info@katalystos.com.

California residents may request information regarding disclosure of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes, in accordance with California Civil Code Section 1798.83.

The policy may be updated to reflect changes to information practices. Material changes will be communicated by email to the account email address prior to becoming effective. Additional notification may be attempted through website notices. Continued use of Katalyst after notification constitutes acceptance of modifications. Users disagreeing with modifications should not use Katalyst after notice.
